DC COMICS DEBUTS NEW COSTUMES FOR SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN
This June, Superman and Wonder Woman join Batman in entering DC Comics’ new era with new looks.
Artist Aaron Kuder’s cover for “Action Comics” #41, debuting today on Nerdist, gives a clean look at Superman’s new duds, a throwback to the outfit Clark sported in Grant Morrison/Rags Morales’ run on the title in 2012. Additionally, our hero’s fists are wrapped and bloodied, indicating that perhaps his current 24-hour frame of powerlessness and vulnerability isn’t quite that short.
NEW “FANTASTIC FOUR” IMAGES REVEAL SUPER SUIT DETAILS
Total Film has released new images from “Chronicle” director Josh Trank’s “Fantastic Four”reboot — four new images, to be exact. The images offer new, up-close looks at Miles Teller’s Reed Richards and Kate Mara’s Sue Storm as well as a full body shot of Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm.
PAK & COULTON UNLEASH “THE PRINCESS WHO SAVED HERSELF” ON KICKSTARTER
In 2013, comics writer Greg Pak and singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton — old college buddies — teamed up to adapt several of Coulton’s songs into comic form. The result, “Code Monkey Save World,” proved to be a fan-favorite mash of robots, zombies, monkeys and laser beams which smashed records on Kickstarter and found incredible success online.
Which is why it’s so exciting that this month sees the pair reteaming with the creative team ofTakeshi Miyazawa, Jessica Kholinne and Simon Bowland for a physical release of the all-ages picture book “The Princess Who Saved Herself.” The story of a feisty Princess who’d rather go on adventures with her pet snake than wait around in a tower all day, pricking herself on looms and waiting to be saved, the project sees the team return to Kickstarter once again, in all their dragon-fighting, guitar-rocking, witch-encountering glory.
RUMOR: JOE MANGANIELLO A “LOCK” FOR “SUICIDE SQUAD’S” DEATHSTROKE
CinemaBlend has reported that, according to their unnamed sources, “Magic Mike” and “True Blood” starJoe Manganiello is “locked up” for the part of Deathstroke in David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad.” These rumors first surfaced back in late January and have, according to CinemaBlend’s sources, only strengthened with time.
The site says that while Manganiello is reportedly close to signing on, the deal isn’t done yet. Jason Clarke (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) is reportedly still in the running for the Deathstroke role, but Manganiello is the rumored frontrunner.
