Robert Downey Jr. Says Marvel’s Spider-Man Will Defy Expectations
Based on what we’ve heard so far, we can expect the new Spider-Man to be played by a true teenager; to be funnier than in previous films, and make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War.
“However we spin it, we’re going to try and defy the expectation of what it would mean,” Downey told IGN . “That’s been the directive from jump. But I think that a great job has been done with Spider-Man so far. And I think that the direction that Spider-Man is going to take is exactly what the fans would be delighted to see.”

NBC’S “THE BLACKLIST” JUMPS FROM TV TO COMICS AT TITAN IN JULY
James Spader’s infiltration of the comics world looks to continue this summer — after starring as the title villain in Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Titan Comics will debut a comic book based on “The Blacklist” — the NBC drama starring Spader — in July.
The Hollywood Reporter has first details on the series, initially announced by Titan this past February at retailer event ComicsPRO. The comic will be written by Nicole Phillips and drawn by Beni Lobel, who has past experience drawing comics based on TV shows, including “True Blood,” “Smallville” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. EP Explains Show’s Tie-In To Captain America: Civil War
Recent episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have seen the organization split in two, with Phil Coulson and his team on one side, and Robert Gonzales’ on the other. Could this be a precursor to the coming conflict between Tony Stark and Captain America in Captain America: Civil War?
“We already brought that notion up,” executive producer Jeffrey Bell tells THR. “Skye has powers and in episode 11 Simmons was going, ‘I always supported him, but now I’m not so sure. All our chasing has led to death and destruction.’ She’s reevaluating her stance. Internally, we’re having that same debate. If there weren’t super-powered people doing bad things, we wouldn’t need super-powered people doing good things.”
The identity of DC Comics’ post-Convergence Batman revealed!
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! You have been warned!
An extremely spoilery page — taken from DC Comics’ Free Comic Book Day one-shot release, Divergence — has been leaked online and, as you can imagine, it has started to make the rounds. Thing is, that page reveals the identity of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s mech-suited Batman.
When DC’s Convergence Batman storyline wraps up, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo will launch an all-new Batman series. However, the man beneath the robotic suit will NOT be Bruce Wayne. So, who’ll be inside the armor?
