Marvel teases Terrigen mists, new Inhumans for Season 3 of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The studio has released an extended synopsis for the third season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which returns to ABC this fall. It’s a lot to digest, but here’s the TL;DR version: The Terrigen mists will be spreading, and Coulson’s team will be dealing with new Inhumans gaining their powers. On that note, Daisy/Skye will be working closely with Mack to build a team (aka Secret Warriors) of super-powered heroes (think the poor man’s Avengers).
As for the rest of the team, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) is on an extended vacation, while the rest of the squad is still licking its wounds after the beating they took late last season. Oh, and in S.H.I.E.L.D’s absence, a new government agency that will rival S.H.I.E.L.D. in power and reach is being established to cause all kinds of trouble for Coulson’s gang. If we had to guess, we’d imagine this mystery agency will likely dovetail into the government aspects of Captain America: Civil War. Oh, and if that weren’t enough, Grant Ward’s new-look Hydra is still a lingering threat.
Man of Steel 2 said to be on “permanent hold”
Late last week, Jon Schnepp – the filmmaker behind the recent documentary The Death Of Superman Lives – dropped a tantalizing rumor: that Mad Max director George Miller is to direct Man Of Steel 2. We’ve since heard from two sources that there might be substance to this rumor. They tell us that Miller is indeed in talks with Warner Bros. about the possibility of taking on one of its future DC movies, though exactly what that movie is hasn’t been decided as yet.
While this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Miller taking on Man of Steel 2, another source has said that, as far as they understand it, the sequel is on “permanent hold.” Now, at this stage, it’s not clear what this means exactly. Have plans for a solo Superman film been abandoned, or is it just in a holding pattern while writers flesh out their story ideas?

The Flash Casts Newcomer as Heroine Speedster Jesse Quick
Violett Beane has been tapped to join Season 2, TVLine has learned exclusively. Her character, who will appear in multiple episodes of the CW smash — is characterized as a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad (the not-yet-cast) Zoom.
DC Wiki, meanwhile, describes Jesse Quick as “the alter-ego of Jesse Chambers, a heroine with super-speed powers. Chambers is the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle.
Jeremy Renner Weighs In On Avengers And Guardians Of Galaxy Crossover
When will the two famous Marvel teams meet up? According to the Avengers star, speaking at his Wizard World Chicago panel this weekend, not right away.
Renner seemed to indicate that there were no plans to include the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War, saying that he assumed Marvel planned to give them another movie of their own, “and then we’ve got Infinity War I and II.”
He said that while it’s likely there are plans to get the teams together, it wouldn’t be right away.
“You’ll be eighty years old by then, and I won’t be Hawkeye anymore,” Renner joked. “I’ll be Dead Guy.”
